SKATE 48 - Annual Hockey Showdown

Are you ready to face your rival team to a hockey duel that will give you bragging rights for the year? Can you show your rivals your community support by being the bigger fundraisers?  Then take the showdown to the ice and show them your puck handling skills.  The bragging rights begin when you win your on-ice game. Enjoy our deluxe dinner while your losing opponent has hotdogs instead! It's all part of the fun of the SKATE 48 hockey game challenge.

Since 1990, over $2.5 million has been raised!  This one game challenge style tournament has provided many entertaining and competitive hockey games, while raising funds for charities and other worthwhile causes in our community and throughout the world. Participants are encouraged to raise funds throughout the community by collecting donations from family, friends and co-workers.  Our on-line donation system makes it easy for you to raise funds.  If you prefer, you can use our manual donation form for collecting cash and cheque donations.

There are great prizes for players that reach fundraising levels of $250, $500 and $1000, plus we will later host a “Top 50 Party” for the top fundraisers.  You don't want to miss this great event featuring special guest, Marcel Dionne, who will be signing autographs after his talk.  In 2017 Dionne was named one of the '100 Greatest NHL Players' in history.  Dionne was the third of seven men to reach the 700-goal plateau, and currently ranks fifth among all-time goal scorers, with 731. He is ranked sixth in points, with 1771. He is tenth in career assists with 1,040.

What better way to make a difference in the lives of less-fortunate children!

SKATE 48 is hosted by the Rotary Club of Kitchener-Grand River.
